Finsihing touches to the perfect cake

Recently Saint Margaret’s “Gang of Four” decided  to get  ready to celebrate Spring  in a very productive way .  Rafi, Maria, Florin, Darius, Cristina and Nicoleta, assisted by Oana, one of St Margaret’s nurses, started baking a cake for their friends and colleagues. The measuring, sifting and mixing can seem daunting at first but a homemade layer cake smothered in frosted icing is extremely delicious so nothing stands in the way of our chefs. Florin, Rafi and Darius chopped the fruit producing a bowl of colourful cubes ready to be used. Maria helped with the pouring of the fruit syrup over the layers using a spoon and Cristina and Nicoleta helped with the whisking of the delicious filling. Rafi came up with a great idea to write down “Beautiful Children” on their special celebratory cake because, of course, all children are beautiful and well behaved in his opinion, and in ours, too, as a matter of fact. In the end, all children helped with the decorating of the cake and couldn’t have been prouder of the end result.

We are also very proud of all of them for their hard work and whimsical creative touches used during this impromptu cooking class. And we couldn’t find a nicer way of greeting spring, although the season has been a  little  grey, but we are hopeful that pretty soon, the sun will make its way through the clouds to brighten our days. Happy Spring, everyone!
