And the Lucky Winner is!

Victor receiving his prize from Maria, St Margaret's Senior Social Worker

Victor Lichiardopol, the lucky winner of this year’s “Christmas Magic” Raffle cannot thank his employer enough, for this year she helped him win the first prize of a beautiful handcrafted English quilt. His boss Mihaela Radu, knowing that it would benefit the children in St Margaret’s Hospice, this Christmas generously bought all her staff a little, something different, a 5 lei (£1.00) raffle ticket, as their “extra” Christmas gift.

Just in time for Christmas Victor was thrilled when he was called to be told he was a lucky winner and couldn’t wait to visit St Margaret’s Hospice to pick up his prize and meet the children. His winning ticket was one of the just short of 1000 tickets sold by the CID organizers, who had literally jumped through hoops to register the raffle and comply with Local Financial Administration Authority rules and regulations.

Other lucky prize winners received a beautiful hand-stitched wall hanging and a giant Christmas stocking ready to be filled on Christmas morning.

Prizes were drawn, by the stars of the cabaret at the Charity’s “Christmas Magic 2013” fundraiser event, which was generously hosted by Maria Popa in her ever popular “Chez Marie” Restaurant on the 12 December.

Valentina Zaharia, who sponsored the raffle shared with our web reporter   “It was hard work but well worth it, we send our thanks and best wishes to the donors of these beautiful prizes and to everybody who bought tickets to have “a little flutter” in our “Christmas Magic“raffle and who in turn so generously supported the children and the work of the Hospice. Congratulations to the three lucky winners and to everyone else all the very best for the year ahead perhaps for them 2014 will be their lucky year”.
