Keeping it in the family.

The 'dynamic trio' taking a breather for their work

Glasgow like the rest of the UK is basking in a heatwave; despite the allure of lazy days of school vacation sunbathing, three generations of the Connelly family have been doing their bit for Children in Distress. Tina Connelly, CID’s Senior Administrator recently shared with her family the challenges the admin team face trying to restore the charity’s computer system after a ransomware hack that resulted in the complete wiping of the computer archive.  With little encouragement, Tina’s daughter, Leselyann and granddaughters Tiegan and Chloe offered to help share the load, by each volunteering a day of their vacation time, to help out in the Glasgow office.

The girls rolled up their sleeves and set about the office’s annual spring clean, from moving furniture, making waste paper runs, to cleaning out the office fridge, nothing seemed too daunting for the this dynamic and  willing trio. Tiegan, who is a bright willing, social media savvy, teenage volunteer had worked in the office once  before so she quickly moved from the tidy up to apply herself to the role of ‘junior social media ambassador’ by  setting up and offering to maintain CID’s new Instagram account. She is now the mastermind, who successfully shares news of CID’s achievements and of the Jeans4Dreams Appeal with the hope of recruiting a new generation of support and reaching out to a new much younger audience.

Well done and thanks for all your support.
