Izabela’s unexpected reward just in time for our June 1st International Children’s Day celebration

Peace reigns Izabela has a new toy

This week it was decided to surprise Izabela, who was sitting quietly at her special table by presenting one of her favourite toys. The unexpected gift was prepared for her as she made huge progress with walking and general mobility skills. She is a hard-working, resilient young lady and her care team are very proud of her achievements. She used to walk by herself to Madalin’s bed and take his puzzle game. Madalin is not quite ready yet to share any of his toys and favourite games so a little drama ensued each time Izabela surprised him by taking one of his “belongings”. We still need to work on brotherly affection and other bonding issues, especially between such strong personalities as there are at the centre.

To settle things between these two residents, it was decided to go hunting for a new puzzle game for Izabela. On Friday, we celebrated International Children’s Day, so it was a great opportunity to find a gift for this inquisitive young lady.  A nice and very useful puzzle game with colourful pieces, was found just right for her little fingers which like to do a lot of exploring of each large piece. The care team can now enjoy her play time sessions watching her mix and match the pieces to create shapes on the wooden board for hours on end.

She likes to spend time at the working table using her imagination and hands to create new shapes without ever getting bored. Her carers snapped the exact moment when she was taking out the pieces to create a new puzzle. Such moments are extremely rewarding, and they like to share them with our friends and supporters. Patience and dedication always yield fantastic results and our young ones continue to surprise us with their progress and some great outcomes.
