Another milestone takes Alexandru closer to adulthood

Alexandru facing a brighter future if he passes his BACC

Alexandru has grown up a lot lately; he has become more mature as a young man, who likes to be surrounded by "wonderful people", who like to help him forget about his health issues. He enjoys involvement in the activities offered by the Don Orione Association, and often gets out and about with the help of Centre staff to experience fully what life has to offer.

Alexandru was delighted when the Don Orione team succeeded in having him reintegrated in the state educational system and when he was back to studies at the Nicolae Balcescu Technological High School in Voluntari, Ilfov County. He met new classmates and with time, they have become best of friends. The teaching staff, who took to him immediately, have made sure he is fully integrated in school life and he adjusted well to the new timetable and learning routine. His new support group were there for him, when he went through some rough patches related to his health and renal condition and have supported his rehabilitation, even offering additional tuition to help him catch up with the subjects he had missed during periods of sick absence.

The years of study have passed positively, helped in the main, by Alexandru’s classmates, and he has now reached the final hurdle, he is only one month away from his Baccalaureate, Romania’s final high school examination. It is always with some trepidation, that students get ready to sit this important examination. This year the exam had a slightly different timetable, as the oral tests have already taken place in February and only the written papers will be taken in June. Alexandru passed his oral and is ’looking forward’ to the written papers. He is eager to get his BACC over and done with and with each passing day, becomes ever more tense. Sspecially since his preparation time for the exams seems to have flown so swiftly.

Alexandru’s chums are very proud of all he has achieved and all his friends at CID wish him well, send positive thoughts, support, and best wishes for every success in his Baccalaureate exams.
