Claudia’s Easter Vacation

Enjoying the Easter break

Claudia’s favourite mid-term school break, which takes place every year around Easter, arrived bringing glorious sunny weather and days spent outside, enjoying nature. Claudia was not left by herself languishing in St Andrew’s, she spent the Easter with Dana Ionila’s family, the centre’s physiotherapist, spending time with this family has become a tradition  in this young lady’s life. Claudia got together with her friends and adapted quickly to the family’s easy timetable.

They went out and had fun in nearby parks, walked the city centre and prepared a variety of traditional dishes for the Easter dinner. Claudia learnt how to fold minced meat rolls using cabbage leaves and she got very good at it. In the end, she was proud to count fourteen perfect rolls made by her own little hands, a roaring success for a beginner. Next, she was shown how to prepare traditional Easter nut cake, how to place the dough in various shapes and stick them in the oven for a couple of hours of anticipation and enjoyment of the fragrant smell wafting around the house.

As ever, Claudia returned at the centre with wonderful memories, great new things taught by her friends and she is looking forward to the next holiday or chance to spend time in the company of great people. It was indeed an unforgettable Easter break!
