‘Shoe Box’ Appeal 2017 gather speed in Glasgow

A little time out during a very busy day for volunteers Lesleyann and Kathie

Shoebox Appeal is now in full swing in Scotland, the recent five hundred or so contributions from Newton and Wallacetown Church of Scotland, Ayr, and the nearby Hansel Village, nearly overwhelmed our small team of packers, who sent out an appeal for assistance and Catherine Brown & Lesleyann Connelly readily answered the call. Both slipped into help after their early morning shifts as cleaners and left after a full day packing, to go back to work.

Even more ‘Christmas Shoeboxes,’ brimming with gifts from  HQ staff at Strata House and the big-hearted cleaners at Springburn Academy will soon swell the load. and  the boxes are whisked away to join the thousands of other being picked up across England. Both Roy Wheeler and Caroline Wilke, who are co-ordinating the Appeal, are very heartened by the response so far and they are quietly confident that there will a many more happy children and oldies receiving a gift thanks to the generosity of the members of our Children in Distress family of care

Big thanks go to Lesleyann and Kathie for coming to the rescue.
