St Cristofer’s kids use their imagination, creativity and talent

hard at work with art therapy

A couple of days ago, after another indulgent but ever popular choice Big Mac at McDonald’s, the kids noticed for the first time, the menu boxes they had been given, and decided to plan an art project using them. They planned their project from start to finish; everyone was involved and happily pitched in an idea or by putting their talents or best artistic or crafting skills to work. The workshop atmosphere is always laid back, but at the same time inclusively active, the children really focus on the project at hand although they like to chatter amongst themselves, sharing details of their day, their plans, their latest experiences or what they enjoyed the most during the previous day.

Whilst this was going on other groups in the art and crafts workshop our crafty atelier was knitting rather smart little bracelets using the red, yellow and blue of the national flag. The bracelets are intended as future presents for the boys and girls of a club who visited over the summer, for when they decide to return, so that they can thank them for their unconditional friendship and support.
