St Lawrence, Seal Chart, Charity Dragon Boat

The hopefuls on parade

Harry and Sue Ward are hoping that you will reach out and help them paddle their way across the line with a little personal sponsorship, which will help the children cared for by Children in Distress as they help crew a dragon boat for charity.

Saturday the 9th September 2017 will see the 20th annual Dragon Boat Festival at Bewl Water in Kent. The Church’s enthusiastic, if rather motley fellow crew will be taking to the water again this year to raise money, which will be distributed to this year’s chosen charities:

·        Children in Distress (www.childrenindistress.org): Caring for Romania's disabled and abandoned children.

·        Sevenoaks Area Youth Trust (www.sayt.org.uk): A youth work charity based in Sevenoaks, Kent, which aims at training, employing and supporting Christian Youth Workers in Sevenoaks and the surrounding area.

·        Scott's Project (www.scottsproject.org.uk): Scott's Project, based near Tonbridge in Kent, supports adults with learning difficulties to strive to reach their aspirations and make choices about how they want to live their lives through three interlinked services.

Last year a beaten but unbowed crew raised over £3500 and this year’s team hope you will help and encourage them to raise a great deal more you can do so by clicking http://www.sealstlawrence.org.uk/dragonboat2017/
