A bright future as another professional completes her practical experience at St. Andrew’s

Finishing a treatment as part of her practical

Recently, an international student from Medicine Faculty at San Juan Campus of the Miguel Hernandez University in Alicante, Spain, completed her three month practical work placement  with the team at St Andrew’s.  She is currently in her 3rd year of studies and  completing her experience with an exchange programme with the Pitesti University Faculty of Physiotherapy.

She has been actively involved in physiotherapy sessions with the children in the Residential ward and from the Day Care Centre. Her practice experience offered an opportunity to gain the confidence in her own abilities she needs to work professionally with children with a variety of disabilities and diagnoses, some even terminally ill. Our undergrad sat her final practical exam at the Centre whilst performing a physiotherapy session with young Adelina Baronescu, one of the centre’s residents.

She was very moved by her experience at St Andrew’s and shared in a short letter “My experience at St Andrew’s was professionally satisfying. This was the first time in my life when I worked with children with such varied conditions and I have learned a lot from the professionals who worked with me. They do wonderful and necessary work for the children!

The St Andrew’s team are proud to encourage and help another student set the building blocks of professional career and they are sure the future looks bright for her career in the social and medical services field. She made a great impression and everyone wish her every success in her chosen profession!
