Canon Irving who will lead this year's service

This year again, by supporter’s request, the Annual Service will be help in beautiful Ely Cathedral. As ever all are welcome to come along give thanks for the work of the volunteers and staff and children given the chance of new life and to remember those to have been gathered home. Cannon Chris Samuels Chair of Trustees has been hard at work seeking a prestigious and interesting preacher to lead our service of thanksgiving. He is pleased to report the Rev. Canon Michael Irving K.C. V. O. Canon of Gloucester Cathedral has accepted an invitation to preach at the Annual Service.

Our Service of Thanksgiving on the 16th September, will begin at 2.00 PM and a warm welcome is extended to all those in the Charity’s local ‘extended family of care’ to attend. A particular invitation goes out to many volunteers and supporters in recent touch or not, who over the last twenty-six years have done so much to ensure that we can deliver our mission of care to children in distress. The local Fund-a-Physio team who have done so much in the last decade to focus and provide physiotherapy support to the children in our care, have kindly agreed to assist with the catering for the post service reunion. If you are intent on joining our thanksgiving and wish to be part of our reunion please contact the admin team on 0141 559 5690 or email tina.connelly@childrenindistress.org.uk to confirm you will be there and would like to join our tea, scones and after chat.  Please make this a date in your diary and join us if you can!
